September 2nd, 2008; by Jim Schwanda

Congratulations to the New Jersey Renegades Youth Hockey Club for placing exceptionally well in the New Jersey Power Rankings survey just release this past week. The survey ranked New Jersey clubs based on responses in these areas: Practice Time, Head Coach Expertise, Assistant Expertise, Power Skating, Club Communication, Team Communication, Tournaments, Club Website, Rink Facilities, Team Selection Process, Emphasizing Sportsmanship, Program Cost/Value, Club Spirit, and Overall Ranking.

The Renegades garnered a total of twelve "A" scores in the various categories including three "A+" scores. The club finished third in practice time (an "A+" score of 97.5), second in head coach experience (an "A+" score of 97.5), second in sportsmanship (an "A+" score of 96.3), second in club website (an "A" score of 93.3), second in club communication (an "A" score of 93.8), and third in club spirit (an "A" score of 95.09).

The New Jersey Renegades ranked seventh in the ENTIRE STATE overall ranking, with a solid "A" score. With 32 New Jersey Youth Hockey League (NJYHL) clubs in New Jersey, plus a number of AAHA and non-affiliated teams, a ranking of seventh overall is quite an achievement!

The survey summary concluded concerning the Renegades: "Great feedback on this organization from its members. One of the very top achievers in our survey results. They received awesome grades across the board. This small, well run club is seen as a great value, with strong coaching, spirit, and cooperation. Congratulations go out to this club's coaches and administrators on a job well done."

Last year three North Hunterdon high school players play for the Renegades, juniors Eric Sydrow and Mark Schwanda played for the midget U16 team and sophomore Kyle Fischbach played for the bantam team.
