Gallagher will Compete In Ice Hockey Nationals

Meaghan Gallagher, a 15-year-old freshman at North Hunterdon High School and Clinton Township resident, plays for the U16 NJ Rockets team that has qualified for the 2008 USA Girls Hockey National Championship running through Sunday in West Chester, Pa. The team advanced at the district playoffs last weekend to qualify for the national championship as one of 12 teams in the Atlantic district.

Gallagher is completing her second hockey season, having played first at Aspen Ice in Raritan Township on an all-boys in-house team on defense. Gallagher also played on the North Hunterdon Ice Hockey Club as well as North’s junior varsity soccer in the fall and lacrosse this season. Gallagher joined the Rockets this year — her first year playing with girls.
